Manual microjoint remover

Easily, safely, and quickly remove micro-joints with the SkipJoint. This machine removes micro-joints much cleaner, easier, and safer than with a belt sander or grinding wheel.

SkipJoint

Using a belt grinder to remove your micro joints, also called witness joints, gives you unwanted rounding of the product. Besides you’re not working safely. Now there’s a solution: the Q-Fin SkipJoint. The SkipJoint is equipped with a vertical rotating disc and a horizontal input table. With this, the micro joints are neatly removed perpendicular to the laser cut product. The polycarbonate guard plate can be set at the height corresponding to the product thickness. This way you are always working safely.

The SkipJoint is designed with a vertical rotating sanding disc and a horizontal infeed table. This allows micro joints to be removed cleanly and square to the product. The polycarbonate safety shield is height-adjustable, so it always matches the product thickness and ensures safe operation. In addition, the steel infeed table can be folded down for extra convenience.

What are micro joints?

Micro joint connections keep small products attached to the sheet by leaving a tiny part of the contour uncut. This prevents parts from falling directly into the cutting bed. However, after laser cutting, a small tab or burr remains on the product, which can be undesirable if a smooth, clean finish is required.

With the SkipJoint, you can remove these micro joints quickly, safely, and with minimal effort—without damaging the product contour.

Flexible and user-friendly

For the hand-operated SkipJoint, sanding discs are available in various grit sizes and qualities, with a diameter of Ø 255 mm. The hook-and-loop disc can easily be replaced once it is worn out. In addition, the machine can be equipped with a polishing or deburring brush for other finishing operations.
